The archive for NHS Lothian, Lothian Health Services Archive (LHSA) collects records of NHS hospitals in Edinburgh and the Lothians and their predecessor institutions.

LHSA also holds more general records on the history of local healthcare.

Our holdings date from 1594 to the present day.

We are based in the Main Library of the University of Edinburgh and (subject to health data legislation and guidance) the archive is open to all.
