When & Where
Event Details
Unusually at the end of July our talk will be on a Wednesday.
Join us at 7:30pm on Wednesday 31st July in Crail Kirk Hall.
Kelsey Jackson Williams (University of Stirling) will talk on: The Crail Sea Box: Charity, Sailors, and the Sea, 1634-1952.
The Crail Sea Box - one of Scotland's oldest charities - supported the widows and orphans of sailors from the burgh - not to mention the occasional shipwrecked foreigner - for over three hundred years. In this talk you'll learn about Crail's forgotten role in international trade, the lives of its seamen, and the central role of the Sea Box in the burgh.
£5 ticket price includes tea or coffee and biscuits.
Tickets can be booked online at: https://www.crailmuseum.uk/talks or purchased from Crail Museum - any remaining tickets will be sold on the door from 7pm.
