Event Details

Join Remembering the Accused Witches of Scotland (RAWS) for an evening of Scottish witchcraft history as we explore the Witchcraft Acts with Dee Lawlor: author, writer, blogger, researcher and historian. Dee has a love of history and was inspired to research the Aberdeen witch trials by the amazing art created by Claire Reichardt at St Nicholas Lane, Aberdeen. This led to her writing in January 2023 "Contagious Enemies": first-hand accounts from the Aberdeen witch trials. Dee is an active supporter of the work of RAWS, and will take us on a journey through the Witchcraft Acts from 1563 to 1735 and beyond and we will consider what the impact these acts had on Scotland and its people.
