In his talk 'Bringing History to life' David Steel will show how the photographs of William McMurray provide a unique insight into the life of a local community 100 years ago.

The talk is based on a collection of over 700 glass plates which were discovered in Gatehouse in 2012 and describes the efforts of David and others to reveal the history of the photographer, William McMurray, and the on-going research to name the people and places in the plates.
